Paws In The Park 2011

Paws in the Park first started in October 2006 with around 80 participants and their dogs turning up for the morning. Since then the event has grown substantially every year with a turn out of around 160 participants in 2008, 200 participants and their dogs in 2009, 250 participants and their dogs in 2010 and 260 participants and their companions in 2011.
The initial reasoning in setting the event up was to help promote correct pet health within the Macedon ranges shire, and also to help promote and raise funds for the various non for profit organization’s associated with animal welfare within the Macedon ranges shire.

Over the years, the event has been organised by the Gisborne Veterinary Clinic’s staff, with many local businesses donating either their time or products for various aspects of the walk. Over $10000 for the supported foundations, and has been split up amongst these.

The ultimate goal for the future of this event; is to grow the day to incorporate many different aspects of the human animal bond and also create a platform for promoting best animal care, and also to help promote awareness for the plight for wildlife surrounding our communities.
