Clinic Manager
Travis Grieve has been with Gisborne Veterinary Clinic team since 2005, and he has come to us from Optus where his true skills were being wasted. His love for animals and their care is displayed on a daily basis with our customer’s animals from large to small or where ever care is needed.
Head Receptionist
Sarah Peeler joined the clinic in 2006, taking over the lead reception role. Sarah has a backgound working with thoroughbred horses at Flemington where she performed administration duties, as well as some nursing duties.
Veterinary Receptionist / Nurse Certificate IV
Keirra started at the clinic in October 2011. Keira has a wide knowledge base after having started her nursing career in a large country practice in 2008, Keirra moved onto nursing within a small animal practice. She also spent the past 6 months working at a large animal welfare organisation in Melbourne.
Equine Receptionist/Nurse
Jayne has been a member of the GVC staff for 13 years, Jayne initially started out as a back of house nurse dealing with the day-to-day hospital and surgery admissions.
Head Veterinary Nurse Certificate IV
Michelle Stanley joined the GVC in early 2011 as Head Small Animal nurse, Michelle has 13 years of dedicated nursing experience behind her.
Equine Co-ordinator/Nurse
Meaghan has worked with the clinic for a number of years; Meaghan brings great skills with her after completion of her Bachelor of Science where she majored in Zoology & Psychology. Since joining us, Meaghan has completed her Cert II in Animal studies, Cert III in Equine Veterinary Nursing, Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, Diploma of Veterinary nursing (surgical) and Cert in AI (eq). Meaghan is also an accredited Veterinary nurse. Meaghan is currently studying for her Diploma of Veterinary nursing for emergency and critical care.
Small Animal Veterinary Nurse Certificate II & III
Amy has worked at the GVC since 2002 and is an integral part of our team. Amy’s roles in the clinic include surgical anaesthesia, small animal nursing, and reception duties.
Veterinary Nurse/ Receptionist Certificate II
Sarah started at the clinic as a work experience student were she performed an outstanding job, showing great skill in animal care, computer knowledge, proficiency in learning, and foremost a love for the job. So we decided we could not let her go and offered her a position as one of our valued staff members.
Small Animal Veterinary Nurse
Kim Szatkowski started with the Gisborne Veterianry Clinic in 2007, Kim has brought to the clinic a great knowledge of dog handling and care that she acquired during her time at the local kennels. Kim brings a strong work ethic and excellent animal based knowledge, this keeps her in good steed for dealing with all the creatures that come through the clinic.
Small & Large animal Veterinary Nurse
Tania Andison joined the Gisborne Veterinary Clinic in 1997 but in 2002 decided to embark on a fresh adventure.
In 2002 Tania began working as property manager of Macedon Lodge, although it seems to have proved that Tania had missed her nursing duties and returned to the clinic in 2008.
Small Animal Veterinary Nurse Certificate IV
Erica began working at the clinic in 2008. She came to us with great background knowledge in the care of domestic and exotic species having previosly worked in a cattery and pet shop. Erica is currently studying for her Certicate IV in Veterinary nursing and has completed her Certificate II. Erica has a keen interest in further extending her education after completing her Cert IV with interest in doing her Diploma in small animal surgery or even something equine based.
Small Animal Veterinary Nurse Certificate IV
Lauren joined the team in 2009, and has 4 years Veterinary nursing up her sleeve. She is currently studying for her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing, and has also completed a Batchelor of Animal Science degree at LaTrobe University in 2007. Lauren also has a keen interest in wildlife and completed a certificate for Wildlife Rehabilitation & husbandy in 2007 at Victoria University. Since working in Gisborne Lauren has been able to put these skills to good use, as you never know what will walk in the door next!
Small Animal Veterinary Nurse Cert II
Abby brings a very bright and bubbly manner to the nursing team, Abby has completed her certificate II in Veterinary Nursing, and has also completed her certificate II in both Business and Information Technology, and these attributes help both Abby and the team with all aspect of the day to day running of the clinic.
Abby is also has an interest in caring for and training horses.
Small Animal Veterinary Nurse Certificate IV
Emily has just finished her certificate IV in Veterinary nursing, and chose to work in this industry as Emily enjoys being involved in animal care.
Emily is one of our newer arrivals to the practice and brings along a lovely caring demeanor.
Mackenzie came to us in 2011 to complete work experience for year 10. In 2012, she has begun her journey to fulfil her dream of working with animals.
Maddie started volunteer work at the clinic in 2009. It was quickly noted that Maddie had great potential to become a Veterinarian or Veterinary nurse of the future.
